The Mango Tree Home was set up to provide relief to orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti by the provision of accommodation and a caring, supportive environment to grow up in. Our aims are simple:
To prevent or relieve poverty in Haiti particularly, but not exclusively, amongst children and young people, by providing services and accommodation, grants or items, to those in need.
To help advance the education of children in Haiti by the provision, maintenance and equipping of a safe, stable home environment for children to venture out into the world from and by encouraging their education in any way necessary.
Whilst our intention is that The Mango Tree Home is run on a small “family” scale, we hope that it proves to be a successful model and allow us to progress the educational and relief of poverty aspects of our aim which will enrich the lives of many more children and young people in the area.
The Charity Commission has recognised our aims and goals and we are now registered in England & Wales with the Registered Charity Number 1166666. In addition, the Home is recognised by the local Mairie (Town Hall) in Haiti and is registered as an association with the Ministry of Social Affairs.
